Round 2

Just went swimming for the 2nd time. Had goggles this time. Pretty good workout. I got through about 800 yards + warm up/down. In a lot less time then the 500 took me last time. I also mastered the flip turn. By master I mean when I do it I inhale a bunch of water through my nose and it hurts real bad. Then am about to black out by the time I am up for air. But I am pretty sure I look good doing it... So...

Poker has been really stagnant the past few days. Breaking even or losing a couple dollars each day. I am going to move down to 11 4's for just a little bit. I feel it will be easier for me to move down to 11 4's for a short period of time to rebuild myself to a comfortable $22 roll than it will be to continue playing bad at the 22's and be on a short bankroll before I know it. That being said, things aren't all that bad and I still have $700 in my account so. Dropping down to $11's is really just a personal choice that I think will be +ev for a few days. Hopefully.

Swimming TR

Wow,
TR on my first ever exercise related swim.

I don't think I will ever regain 100% functionality out of my arms. I was barely able to get them up to the keyboard to type.

I lasted about 35 minutes in the pool. Probably got in about 400 yards of swimming before I just gave out and couldn't complete another lap... Then I sat for about 8 minutes before doing one more. "Warm down" lap. Though I was attempting to take it very easy on that lap even that was straining me terrible. I can't imagine what this stuff would look like on film. But it would not be pretty.

My form was terrible throughout and every time I would take a breath I would lose rhythm completely. So my mechanics are quite horrendous. One tip I got before swimming was "Make sure your hand beats your elbow into the water." That might've happen on my first stroke then it was all down hill to an ugly thrashing and desperate kicking in a futile attempt to move myself through the unfriendly medium. I don't think it could be considered freestyle stroke. Or any stroke for that matter.

However, with all the technique fail that I encountered I got one hell of a workout. Which is the whole reason I went so I guess that is a positive. I still want to learn how to swim better so I don't look like such a donk to all the old ladies and stuff who were lapping me with ease. I heard Tim Ferris recommend something called Total Immersion for swimming. I may try that out.

Other mistakes I made:
Get fkin goggles ldo. My eyes are burning.
Get a speedo type swimsuit. Board shorts are ghey.
Learn how to swim

That is the monstrosity that was my first exercise based swim workout.

Not great game selection lately

I haven't had any luck in anything besides HU Sng. Meaning, I've dumped alot of money in rebuy tourneys and other MTTs. Hurting my profit pretty bad. I am at $844 now. So that's. 656 til goal. Pretty much where I was a few days ago. I am probably gonna take the rest of today off. It's like 3am. So my plan is to go start my new swimming hobby in about 2 hours. Then go to class and stuff today and come home. Clean up the crib. Then hit the sack at like 5 or 6. To be up tuesday morning by 4:30-5 am. On days I swim I want to be to the pool by 5. As that is when it opens and I feel getting there first gives me superiority on picking a lane or something like that. To be honest I have no idea how it all works as I've never gone. But it should be pretty humorous the first few times I go as I will probably look like an idiot.

My swimmer friend hooked me up with a basic routine workout that I am gonna do today. Then that'll adjust as I go. My main focus is to have good form and crap. If I decide I like this I will probably go out and get some speedo shorts and goggles and all that jazz. So I need to make 656 dollars this week. EZ game imo.

It was a good day...

Got to class on time.

Got my refund check from school.

Paid all necessary bills.

Basically just got my finances in order.

Then played poker with tremendous results. I set a lofty goal of going from $844 to $1000. I hit $1125 within like 2.5 hours of playing then stopped. At 9:15 I decided to play the $22 hu matches and lost first round. Leaving me at $1103 on the day. Quite insane run good. I also got back in touch with my former coach Mike Wywrot, who I am friends with. He is a fierce HU player and is a regular at 400nl HU and 1000nl HU. I may get back into a coaching set up with him. I am not sure though. That should get some more info next week sometime.

Classes are going well and I had an accounting test today that I think I did very good on. I am going to start swimming in the mornings next monday at 5am. My first goal with swimming is to get comfortable in a routine of getting up and going a few days a week and get comfortable swimming. Then to actually learn some good technique and become a good swimmer. I have watched some basic how to video's and am hoping to not look like a total ass when I start monday morning. But... If I suck then that'll just make it that much easier to get better.

Update as of

School has been taking a lot of focus. I am happy about that and about my performance. I haven't been playing a lot of poker. But when I have played I have had good results. Until today LDO.

I lost about $200 in the $10 rebuy. Which is sick. I just ran unnaturaly bad in the rebuy hour. Then got sucked out on with AQ vs. K9s in Blind vs. Blind play. So I can officially say I am done with rebuy tourneys for about another $1000. My new goal is to grind $22 4 mans til I get to $1500... Then cash out $500. Then regularly cash out anything over $1000 for the rest of the month. Pretty simple. I am $656 away from $1500 though. I tilted cashed out like $60 something today after my donking in the $10 rebuy. Left $800 on. Now have $844. Pretty much 40 buyins to 20hu. 36 to 22hu to be exact. But still deep enough. $550 will be my stop loss to move back down to $11 HU. I hope that won't happen. But if it does I will deal with it.

I just really need to focus all my energy on grinding $22 4 mans. I can make so much money at them if I will just settle down and do it. So....

Life Update

Well,
Things have been pretty crazy. I haven't had internet since I got back from Colorado. Just got turned on today. I worked in a factory for 1 week then quit yesterday because it was too much.

I plan on playing poker full time for money right now. Focusing most of my effort on doing well in school. That's the plan...

Detailed poker goal. Make $1100 before Luke gets here on October 3. My 2k goal this month isn't gonna work out most likely. Because I haven't been able to play the last week. Likely next month will be my goal of $2000. So we'll see how that goes. $900 is the starting bankroll for the goal. So $2000 will be the ending result. I will keep loose tracking of it in the blog. Just bankroll updates and such.

More More and More

So Luke is coming here at the beginning of October. So he's probably gonna be staying with me most of the time at my apartment. Both of us our spending a lot of time grinding right now and we decided to set a goal against each other. Total Net Profit for the month. Winner gets, My master bedroom for the month, a trophy, dinner at winners choice of restaurant.

We are both at about the same levels but he plays cash and I SNGs. So I am excited to see where everything progresses to. I played a bit more tonight and had some more success. I feel I am playing as good as I ever have and am very keen on reading hands lately.

Got some stuff to do today and then start school tomorrow. Peace

Updating the roll

Well,
I ran super hot today. Sickness. My bro offered to help me out financially for all my help at his house in Colorado so he is gonna send me $350 to buy groceries, pay some bills etc.

So I am gonna be doing ok with money in real life. Which opens up goodness for poker.

I feel now is the time for me to take my poker playing to the next level. With good solid bankroll management. So my September goal is going to be altered as it is September first I feel it is the best day to do so. New Goal is $2000 Profit. Starting from the $500 bankroll I started with so i am in the profit some already this month. and will just look to build on that.

I am starting school Tuesday so that'll be something I have to focus a lot of time on. If I can pay my bills from poker and do that. That'd be cool. If I make the $2000 goal. I will cash out $1000 to put in the bank. Then set some new goals with my $1500... I think this is attainable it's just gonna require moving up in limits pretty quickly. I have plenty to play $22 4's with. I might still grind $11 4's for now though. Just to be safe i am not sure. I will probably play $22 4s.
